LADY GAGA!

You might not know this but I am obsessed with LADY GAGA! I decided to do a little research on her!

P.S I read a couple articles on her, but did not copy them, I wrote this all myself!

Biography
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta ( better known as Lady Gaga) was born in Yonkers, New York on March 28, 1986 and is 23 years old. She was signed by Def Jam Records at the age of 19, and began performing in New York City's Lower East Side. She was also working (in that same period of time) at Interscope Records. Akon after hearing her sing convinced Jimmy lovine to sign a joint deal with Akon's Kon Live Distribution.

Fame Success
Her well known album The Fame, was released in August 2008, it had received mostly positive reviews , it topped the music list in 4 countries. The 2 famous songs on The Fame, "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" have now become international number-one-hits, because of this she was inspired to go on her first headline tour , The Fame Ball Tour! The Fame peaked at number one in Austria, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland, and at number four in Australia and the United States

Inspiration
Gaga is inspired by many glam rockers and pop singers such as David Bowie, Queen, Madonna and Michael Jackson. She is also inspired by fashion, which she says is a essential to her performance and songwriting!

Schools

At age 11 she was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan, but instead attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school. Playing piano by ear from the age of 4, she went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mike nights by age 14. At age 17, she gained early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. There, she studied music and improved her songwriting skills by composing essays and analytical papers focusing on topics such as art, religion and socio-political order. She later withdrew from the school to focus on her musical career.

Working with Other Stars

Lady Gaga joined Lady Starlight who helped her create her onstage outfits. The pair played gigs in downtown club areas. They were called "Lady Gaga and Starlight Revue". They were then invited to perform at music festival Lollapalooza. Gaga focused on avant-garde, electronic dance, and then pop melodies and vintage glam rock. She began writing for more artists including Akon, Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears and New Kids on the Block. She started working on a new collection with new material such as electro-glam, David Bowie-esque, and Queen-inspired songs, but she wanted to mix her retro dance beats with urban melodies, a pop chorus and still retain a rock and roll edge. Akon worked with her along the way and their first song was "Boys Boys Boys"

Present Day

By 2008, Gaga had relocated to Los Angeles, working closely with her record label to finalize her debut album The Fame. Gaga said that she combined a lot of different genres on the album, "from Def Leppard drums and handclaps to metal drums on urban tracks." She began to work with with a collective called the Haus of Gaga who helped her with her clothing, sets and basically onstage performance and ego. The Fame's first single "Just Dance" topped six countries charts and won a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. Te second single "Poker Face" reached number one in almost 20 COUNTRIES! Gaga was nominated for 9 awards at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards including Video of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for "Poker Face" and Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Special Effects, Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction for "Paparazzi. Gaga won "Best New Artist" and her song Paparazzi won "Best Art Direction" and "Best Special Effects"

Where she got her name

  1. I really like the songs "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" also. She's not just a crazy woman wearing bizarre get-ups; she's a talented singer.
